Qualification of wholesale purchasing
Cavicchio Greenhouses, Inc., is a horticultural grower and wholesale distributor. We sell only to the trade. If you are in the business of landscape maintenance, installation, landscape design, architect or construction, garden center, state or federal agency we welcome the opportunity to do business with you. Your customers are welcome to walk the yard as long as you or, an authorized representative of your company accompany them. Do not send your customer here without a representative from your company. Unaccompanied homeowners will be asked to leave.
How to buy
If you are a qualifying business or municipality you may fill out the Trade Account Application and either fax to 978.443.5440 or email email@example.com. Please allow 48 hours for your application to be reviewed and processed. We will notify you via email regarding your account status. If you need immediate assistance regarding pricing, availability, or any other questions please call us at 978.443.7177. When we receive and process your application, we will mail you a customer identification card and account number.
How to shop here
Once you are an approved Cavicchio Greenhouses, Inc. customer, in the pickup area only, you can grab a cart and start shopping. To walk and tag material in the nursery or landscape yard you will need to be accompanied by a member of our staff. Please call to make an appointment. Be sure to have your customer card with you. You will need it to check out. Orders can also be made by phone, email or fax.
Ordering and special orders
Orders phoned, emailed or faxed can be scheduled for pickup within 48 hours. Orders not picked-up on schedule will be returned to inventory and a 20% restocking fee will apply. We are happy to special order product for you. Special orders require a 50% non-refundable deposit due at the time that you place a special order. We will notify you when the special order stock arrives. Special orders must be picked up within 48 hours of the date of notification. Cancellation of pulled or staged material not picked up within 48 hours will result in a 20% cancellation fee.

Tagging and reserving material
Only individuals employed by your company can tag material on your behalf. Your company will be responsible for all material tagged by those individuals you have authorized to tag on your behalf. Nursery plant material at our Lincoln Road Nursery may be tagged and reserved for up to three weeks. After September first we will only reserve for up to two weeks. Previously tagged orders will be staged and held only if the total reservation time does not exceed the overall three-week time limit. Cancellation of staged orders will result in a 20% restocking fee. We do not hold plants in the Pickup Area, but we can enter a sales order for a scheduled pickup within 48 hours. Commercial woody plant warranty
We guarantee our woody plants for 90 days from the date of purchase.
If a plant is found to be defective or in distress you must notify a sales representative from Cavicchio Greenhouses, Inc. as soon as possible, within 90 days of purchase. Do not remove any defective plant until Cavicchio Greenhouses, Inc. has had an opportunity to view the plant in place in order to evaluate the planting, maintenance and site conditions impacting the affected plant.
Plants must be planted and cared for under standard horticultural practices such as proper planting depth and pit size, consistent deep watering, fertile soil, sufficient mulch, and proper planting location, care and maintenance required for the cultural needs of the specific plant(s) in question.
Plants must be of an acceptable climatic zone (i.e. Zone 5) or lower.
Certain plants such as Quercus (all varieties), Betula jacquemonti, Ilex, Cupressocyparis leylandii, Pinus nigra, Cercis, and Pinus sylvestris are not covered by this policy.
This warranty is valid on plants purchased from April 1 to October 1 only.
Customers who pick up plant material must cover and properly care for plant material when leaving the yard. No claim will be considered if nursery stock leaves the yard without proper protection.
In all cases, the original price will be the maximum claim to which the purchaser is entitled. Any approved claim will be settled in the form of a merchandise credit or replacement stock at the discretion of the area manager.
Only claims by the original wholesale account holder will be considered. We accept no responsibility for claims or promises made by our customer to their customer.
All boxwood are final sale. No returns for any reason. We can not risk potential exposure to Boxwood Blight. This policy is in place to protect our customers and the farm from potential contamination.
Freight, labor, and other costs are not refundable.
Natural stone product warranty disclaimer
Our Stone Products are offered wholesale to professionals in the landscape industry. These products are provided "AS IS" without any guaranty or warranty, express or implied.
We continuously strive to provide our customers with a large and varied selection of the highest quality stone available in the market. However, Cavicchio Greenhouses, Inc. makes no express or implied warranty for natural stone materials regarding merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose and makes no other warranties, expressed or implied to the purchaser and/or sub-purchaser or end user of the natural stone products. Cavicchio Greenhouses, Inc. is not responsible for the manner in which the material is installed or applied.
The following guidelines are intended solely to clarify an understanding of certain properties, characteristics, or conditions associated with Cavicchio Greenhouses, Inc. products. They do not represent all of the properties, characteristics, or conditions which may exist or which may be covered under this warranty disclaimer.
Color and Veining: Stone is composed of natural materials and is subject to variations in background color, veining distribution and veining pattern. The color, shade, veining, color concentrations (blotches), and any other variances in the appearance of natural stone will exist and will vary between a sample you may have used in the selection process and the actual stone(s) used on your project, between two stones, and even within the same stone. Such naturally occurring variations are to be expected in stone and are not considered defects.
Fissures: Stone may have a seam that is not visible at the time of sale or installation causing the stone to open or crack.
Finish: Your stone product may come with a finish, such as Sawn, Thermal Flamed, Honed, Polished, Natural Cleft, Bush Hammered or Sandblasted. Edges may also be Rock Faced, Split or Sawn. Irregularities in the finish levels of natural materials like stone are common, reflecting the unique natural patterns and finish that give each stone product its distinctive appearance. Finish will vary from piece to piece and on the same piece.
Surface Irregularities and Thickness: Natural stone is composed of minerals and is earth-formed over hundreds of millions of years. Fissures, pitting, mineral pooling, and other naturally occurring features in stone should not be considered as defects, and are not covered under this warranty. The thickness of stone slabs vary, therefore thickness designations (i.e. 4 inches) are nominal rather than exact. Dimensions of cut-to-size stone products may vary up to 1/8 inch from the nominal dimension.
Weathering: Stone may change color as it ages; this can happen right away or take years to occur. Stone could change color due to exposure to the elements. Stone may have minerals in it that cause rust or staining to appear. Stone can be affected by ice melt, minerals or chemicals in rain, tap water, pool water or groundwater. Permanent stains can occur. Using acid or harsh chemicals will also affect the color or integrity of natural stone. Use of Polymeric Sand in joints between stones can cause water retention leading to spalling.
We accept Cash, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover. With proper identification, company/personal checks from the business owner. For customers who have been granted a line of credit a monthly finance charge of 1.5% will be added 30 days after an invoice’s due date. Cavicchio Greenhouses, Inc. reserves the right to change a customer’s credit limit or convert the customer to COD at any time. Returned checks will be assessed a $25 fee. We do not accept Credit Card payments on invoices charged to a Cavicchio credit line.
We do not accept third-party checks.
The appropriate state sales tax will be applied to all sales unless we have a current, completed Exemption Certificate on file.
Customer card and card use
This card was assigned to you personally and your account and as such you assume all responsibility for it and any purchases made with it. Friends, neighbors and others are not allowed to use your card to shop here.
Should you lose your card, you can get a replacement at any of our sales counters. Please come in and get a new card before shopping so that we can scan your purchases efficiently when you are ready to check out.
All returns must be made within 48 hours, be accompanied by a sales receipt and are subject to quality inspection. A 20% restocking fee will be applied. No returned plant will be accepted after 48 hours of the sale.
Kids and animals
We like them both. However, a busy wholesale yard is not the place for them. If you are unable to avoid bringing your children, they must be handheld and with you at all times. Pets are not allowed.
Issues with the product on a delivery must be noted on the paperwork at the time of delivery.
Delivery of all products is available throughout New England. Depending upon the customer location, materials ordered, and destination there are varying minimums. Please contact one of our sales representatives for information and rates.
2019 Delivery Policies
As part of our commitment to superior customer service, we offer delivery of our products. Together with our drivers, our goal is to deliver to your location in a safe, timely and efficient manner.
TYPE OF DELIVERY
We offer delivery services to our customers at a charge set by the Company based on geography and whether equipment use and a driver helper is required for the delivery. Check with your salesperson about the charge to deliver to your location.
We offer CURBSIDE/TAILGATE delivery for deliveries. Curbside/Tailgate means at or near the entrance to the delivery site.
Only Cavicchio employees are permitted on Cavicchio trucks and Cavicchio equipment.
In order to make accurate and efficient deliveries we need our customer to be at the site at the time of delivery to inspect the order and sign the delivery paperwork.
The customer scheduled for the first delivery each day will be contacted by our dispatcher the prior day. The Driver will call the next delivery customer upon finishing each delivery to alert the customer of the ETA for the next delivery.
DELIVERY SITE SAFETY
Deliveries must be made with a Safety First goal for our drivers, customers and delivery site property.
Our drivers must follow all required safety procedures including all federal, and state, local driving rules and Company policy.
Only drivers trained and certified in the operation of a Spyder may use a Spyder as part of a delivery. The use of a seat belt is a requirement for Spyder operation. Proper operation of the Spyder including proper load management is a required element for Spyder operation.
Drivers must assess the job site to make sure the delivery can be made safely without causing damage to persons, property, powerlines, wires. If the delivery site poses a safety hazard that the driver cannot easily eliminate, the driver will contact his/her dispatcher to find a solution to any safety issue posed at the site.
